Bad news for Barcelona, injured ace faces two-month spell on sidelines

Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele is reportedly set to be ruled out for two months after sustaining a hamstring injury in the win over Getafe on Saturday.

The 20-year-old had to be replaced after just 20 minutes in his first start in La Liga after falling to the ground and clutching his hamstring after sprinting for the ball.

Initial suggestions over a recovery timetable weren’t promising, now Sport are reporting that the French international could miss up to two months of action.

If confirmed that’s a major setback for the Catalan giants and Dembele himself as he would have been desperate to make a positive start to life at the Nou Camp and begin to ease the pressure on his shoulders after his mega-money move from Borussia Dortmund this past summer.

Instead, he’ll now have to miss significant time, with Leganes vs Barcelona on November 18 or the Champions League clash with Juventus on November 22 noted in the report as possible return dates.

Naturally, supporters were desperately disappointed with the setback on social media, and they’ll be hoping that it isn’t as serious as now suggested when further tests are carried out to determine the full extent of the muscle problem.
