Chelsea ready to launch fresh bid to sign €60m-rated target, transfer battle with PL rivals

Chelsea are reportedly ready to reignite their interest in Juventus defender Alex Sandro in January, although it will take a bid of €60m or more to sign him.

The Brazilian ace was on the Chelsea radar this past summer, but clearly a move to Stamford Bridge failed to materialise as he remained in Turin.

However, according to TransferMarketWeb, as re-reported by The Daily Star, the Blues are ready to try again for the 26-year-old in January, but it will take a bid of €60m+ to prise him away from the Serie A champions.

Sandro has established himself as a key figure for Juve, offering real quality in the left wing-back position. That’s something that Antonio Conte is seemingly still keen to add to his squad, as he’ll need competition for places with Marcos Alonso to rest the Spaniard and rotate his team.

Surprisingly, the report also claims that Manchester City are interested in Sandro too, despite the fact that Pep Guardiola brought in Benjamin Mendy and has used Danilo on the left so far this season.

Evidently that’s not enough strength in depth for the Spanish tactician, and he could rival Chelsea for Sandro in January.

It’s difficult to see Juve negotiating half way through the campaign for such an important player though, and so it’s more than likely that both Chelsea and City will have to wait until next summer to have another crack at him.

Nevertheless, he’s certainly worthy of a move and he may well consider a new challenge at the end of this season if Juve continue to dominate domestically but fall short in Europe.
