Man United face competition to sign the talented Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio with several clubs said to be interested.

Lazio’s Director of Football Igli Tare has told Italian news outlet CalcioMercato this weekend, “We have received several offers for him. We have received offers exceeding 70million euros (£62m).”

The 22-year-old is at the centre of a transfer saga with both Man United and Man City said to be interested.

The midfielder’s agent is the former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman. Kezman has understandably done everything in his power to publicize the demand for the Serbian midfielder. The Sun recently cited comments from Kezman who told Radio CRC“There’s been a lot of interest from several clubs, such as those in Madrid, Manchester and Milan.”

Milinkovic-Savic signed for Lazio from Genk in 2015 and has proved to be an immense talent in Serie A attracting interest from top clubs around Europe.

At 6ft3 Milinkovic-Savic is certainly Premier League material. The 22-year-old is renown for his strength and has a superb ariel presence. The Serb has already registered a goal for Lazio this season and looks set to increase his price tag further and further with his performances.

If Milinkovic-Savic was to arrive at Old Trafford it could give United not only one of the most talented midfields in world football but also one of the tallest midfields in world football. The Serb would line up alongside Nemanja Matic, Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba who are all individually over six foot tall. Imagine trying to defend a set piece against that lot!
