Tottenham handed double fitness boost as crucial games pile up in next fortnight

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is preparing his men for a tough test on Tuesday night, but he might have some very good team news.

Spurs currently sit in second place in Group H in the Champions League, but they have an identical record to their upcoming opponents Real Madrid as they prepare for back-to-back showdowns.

A lot will be riding on these encounters as they both battle for top spot, and the visitors to the Bernabeu could have some excellent news on the injury front, not only for Tuesday night but also for their season as a whole.

As seen below, Tottenham have confirmed that both Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele have both travelled to the Spanish capital and will train with their teammates on Monday night in preparation for the game.

Evidently that’s not a suggestion that either or both will be in the starting line-up and that remains highly unlikely, but ultimately it’s a huge boost for Spurs as they will only get stronger welcoming their best players back to action after various injury woes.

Rose hasn’t featured for Tottenham at all so far this season due a knee ligament injury, while Dembele suffered a bruised ankle last month and in turn has been limited to just six appearances so far this year.

Both players will be essential in helping Tottenham reach their targets this season, and while they might be forced to sit out this week, they’ll be desperate to push for a place in the starting line-up with crucial games against Liverpool, Man Utd and the reverse fixture against Madrid all in the next fortnight.
