(Video) Tottenham fans sing brilliant Moussa Sissoko chant ahead of Real Madrid clash

He wasn’t the most popular figure at Tottenham last year as he struggled to make an impact in his first season with the club, but it looks like Moussa Sissoko has turned a corner.

The 28-year-old cost Tottenham £30m last summer, as reported by The Guardian, who also note how Mauricio Pochettino publicly called out the French international during the campaign too.

Sissoko made 34 appearances in all competitions last season, but a large majority of those were off the bench as he struggled to hold down a regular spot in the starting line-up throughout the campaign.

However, he’s been a more prominent figure so far this year with injuries elsewhere also helping his cause, as he’s made 11 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

It’s good timing on his part too as he’ll undoubtedly have aspirations of making the France squad for the World Cup in Russia next summer. It seems that his improved fortunes are rubbing off on Tottenham fans as well, who were captured singing his name in this brilliant chant in Madrid ahead of the Champions League encounter between the two sides on Tuesday night.

Now to score a goal at the Bernabeu to really make himself a hero…
