“Not far off the size of a horse” – Jamie Carragher mocks fellow Sky Sports pundit

Jamie Carragher was on Sky Sports duty on Friday night, and he couldn’t resist the opportunity to have a couple of digs at old rival Gary Neville.

The pair enjoyed a fierce rivalry on the pitch during their playing days for Liverpool and Man Utd respectively, but they are good friends now and great pundits who regularly work alongside each other.

Speaking to Sky Sports in a special Q&A session ahead of West Ham’s meeting with Brighton though, Carragher couldn’t help himself and had pop after pop at Neville who was nowhere to be seen to give some back.

Responding to the above tweet, Carragher said: “One horse sized Gary Neville, definitely – as he’s not far off the size of a horse since he retired. Can you imagine 12 of him? Scary.”

In addition, the Liverpudlian was also asked: “Who’s quicker, you or Neville?”

“Me. Both mentally and physically. I’ve beat Sadio Mane in a race, so that fat horse isn’t going to trouble me!”

Ouch. Both were exceptional players and professionals throughout their playing days, and both are top class at what they do now as they dissect and analyse what they see in the Premier League on a weekly basis.

However, nothing beats their wit as they’re both more than happy to send a few digs back and forth, and it will be interesting to see what Neville has to say once he hears about all this!

We probably won’t have to wait too long with Chelsea taking on Watford in the early kick-off on Saturday, as Neville may well be around to lend us his co-commentating skills for the afternoon. Carragher watch out!
