Chelsea didn’t end the first half against Watford in the way that they wanted having been pegged back, but that didn’t stop a Pedro love-in from happening.
The Spaniard opened the scoring with a brilliant strike from long range to take his tally to 24 goals in 93 appearances for Chelsea since he arrived from Barcelona in 2015.
Aside from receiving plenty of praise for the goal itself, others were keen to point out just how important the 30-year-old is in general as he continues to play a crucial role for Antonio Conte’s men.
From his ability to create for others, his goalscoring threat and his work ethic off the ball, there is so much that Pedro brings to the table, and it’s good to see it appreciated by supporters.
Nevertheless, much of the talk will be about that goal, although it won’t mean too much if the reigning Premier League champions can’t take anything from the game.
Conte has seen his side slip to consecutive losses in the Premier League prior to Saturday, and they can ill-afford a third if they are to have any chance of catching Manchester City who are already nine points ahead at the top of the standings.
Pedro actually one of the most underrated players about.
