After being left out of the Man Utd starting line-up to face Swansea City in the League Cup on Tuesday, supporters are fearing the worst for one star man.
With just one senior appearance so far this season to his name, the expectation was that Luke Shaw would start against the Swans having been left out by the U23s side for their game against Liverpool on Monday night.
However, the 22-year-old was named on the bench for United’s clash at the Liberty Stadium, raising further question marks over whether or not Jose Mourinho trusts him enough to give him a prominent role in his team moving forward.
Shaw has been desperately unlucky in a way as he has been plagued by injuries since moving to Old Trafford in 2015. Further though, as reported by BT Sport, his attitude has also been slammed by his Man Utd boss who hasn’t been shy in publicly criticising him.
Despite heavily rotating his team with the weekend’s clash with Tottenham firmly in mind, coupled with the fact that Marcos Rojo is still out injured and the left-back position is a problem area for United, Shaw still can’t get the nod to get minutes under his belt and make the role his own.
In turn, with Mourinho opting to go with a back three against Swansea with Axel Tuanzebe getting the start alongside Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof, it really doesn’t look great for Shaw, and the Man Utd supporters below know it…
Struggling to see much of a future for Shaw at United. Mourinho has made seven changes and he still can't get in. Plus Rojo still to return.

Shaw can’t even start Cup games man. That lads a goner. Needs to leave for his own good. Mutual separation likely.

I guess this is a good bye for Shaw! Gutted tbh, always wanted him to succeed at #MUFC ! Better sell him in Jan & buy a proper LB!

Finally at a point where I believe Luke Shaw does not have a career at United anymore.

Luke Shaw can't even get a start in the League Cup. That's the end of his #MUFC career, certainly. Shame, he has massive talent.

Said it weeks ago, Luke Shaw's Utd career is over. Saw him in a recent reserve match, dogshit performance. Off to sunderland you go pal.

I've accepted that Luke Shaw's United career is over

That's got to be it for Luke Shaw. Such a shame. Flashes of potential but hasn't applied himself. #MUFC
