Man Utd vs Tottenham confirmed line-ups: Three Spurs changes with Kane absence, double boost for hosts

Man Utd and Tottenham clash at Old Trafford on Saturday with plenty on the line for both sides as they vie for second place in the Premier League table.

Prior to Spurs sweeping Liverpool aside at Wembley last weekend, United came unstuck at Huddersfield Town in a bitterly disappointing result for Jose Mourinho and his players.

In turn, with just one point taken from their last two league games, they’ll need to produce a performance at home and claim a positive result to lift the negative cloud that is starting to set over them.

With regards to team news, Jesse Lingard drops back to the bench despite his goalscoring heroics in midweek against Swansea City in the League Cup, while Eric Bailly returns from injury and Phil Jones makes the starting line-up despite being forced off last weekend.

Mourinho will be delighted to welcome back his defensive duo, as Victor Lindelof faced fierce criticism after his shaky display last time out in the league and so there should be more solidity at the back for the Red Devils.

As for Tottenham, the big talking point prior to kick-off was the injury suffered by Harry Kane last weekend which has ruled the prolific striker out for this one.

In turn, Mauricio Pochettino has turned to a front three of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Heung-Min Son to lead the way for his side in Manchester.

The Argentine tactician has made three changes to the side that faced Liverpool, with Ben Davies, Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko coming in for Kane, Davinson Sanchez and Kieran Trippier.
