Man United news: £190,000-a-week ace unsure when he’ll be offered improved deal by club

Man United may be walking a fine line with this one, and they may pay the consequences for doing so.

It’s being reported by the Daily Star that Manchester United and Spain international David De Gea is still unsure as to when the club will offer him a new and improved deal.

The news outlet are also saying that due to Real Madrid reportedly ending their interest in the Spaniard, it may now take even longer for the club to offer De Gea improved terms on his current £190,000-a-week deal.

Since joining the Red Devils from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in 2011, De Gea has been nothing short of a miracle worker.

During his time so far at Old Trafford, De Gea has quickly become a fan favourite and always seem to be one of the first names on the team sheet.

His record of 106 clean sheets in 283 appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side is nothing to be sniffed at, with the player also managing to collect a decent amount on silverware during his time with the side as well.

In the six years he’s been in England, the 26-year-old has won a Premier League title, an FA Cup, a League Cup, a Europa League and a Community Shield.

As well as this, the player has also picked up some personal accolades, as the Spanish international has been named in the PFA Team of the Season four times and has been named United’s Player of the Season twice.

In the last few years, De Gea has seen himself being labelled by fans and journalists alike as one of the best in the world, and for good reason. The player’s superb reflexes and ability to command his area are second to none, with only Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer being able to rival the Spaniard.

Should United end up taking a while to offer a De Gea a new and improved deal with the club, they could run the risk of losing him, something they surely wouldn’t want to do.
