Interesting demand!

FC Luzern manager Markus Babbel has made a surprise request of his players and their wives – not to have too much sex to avoid tiring his team out during the season.

The German tactician, who spent four years on the books at Liverpool during his playing career, insist he won’t impose a total sex ban but wants players’ partners to ‘go easy’ on their men!

The 45-year-old has seen his side slip into a relegation fight in Switzerland, and full focus will be needed from his squad if they are to climb up the table.

‘We have to do everything possible to be 100 per cent ready in a short space of time. The players’ wives need to go easy on them,’ Babbel is quoted in the Sun.

‘I am not forbidding them from having sex. If it regenerates them then that is no problem.

‘But the wives need to cut back, and that also means their plans for shopping or cinema trips with their men.

‘It is OK for them to share their beds with their partners if this makes them sleep better.

‘But we have to do everything possible to get that bit of good fortune back on our side.’

Good luck with that, Markus!
