Manchester United decide on Jose Mourinho replacement amid growing PSG speculation

Manchester United have reportedly decided on swooping for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino if they do end up losing Jose Mourinho to PSG next season.

The Argentine has shone at Spurs, turning the club into genuine title contenders after years of scrapping it out – and largely failing – to compete with Arsenal for a top four spot.

Pochettino guided Tottenham to their first finish above Arsenal in 22 years last season as they proved the strongest challengers to Chelsea in the title race, finishing second in the table.

Spurs have also started this season well, beating Real Madrid 3-1 in the Champions League recently in a result that has really made Europe’s top clubs take notice.

According to the Daily Express, United and PSG are both interested in Pochettino, with the Ligue 1 giants considering him and Mourinho as they warn Unai Emery about his position at the Parc des Princes.

Pochettino has been talked about in terms of being a future United manager in the past, with the Daily Mail claiming he met with former Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson around the time the club were looking at replacing Louis van Gaal, even if Mourinho ultimately came in instead.

Tottenham will surely do all they can to keep Pochettino from moving to a Premier League rival, but it could be a difficult summer ahead as the Sun also claim United are keen to sign their star striker Harry Kane.

If Pochettino and Kane were to both move to Old Trafford next season, United would surely consider that a tremendous piece of business to set them up for future glory.
