Manchester United have reportedly made an offer worth £177million to Real Madrid for the transfer of Marco Asensio, who is tempted by the prospect of moving to Old Trafford.
Don Balon also claim the Red Devils are prepared to make the Spain international the highest paid player in the Premier League with a contract worth £24m a year if he moves.
Asensio has long been regarded as one of the best up-and-coming talents in the game, having broken through in Zinedine Zidane’s first-team last season.
Reports elsewhere from Diario Gol also hint that he’s considering his future at Madrid, with Real’s interest in Eden Hazard possibly set to persuade him to force an exit from the Bernabeu.

This would be good news for United, who are clearly big fans of the 21-year-old’s abilities, with a £177m transfer enough to make him the most expensive Premier League signing of all time.
United have not been shy of splashing the cash on big-name purchases in recent years, with significant funds spent on the likes of Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Nemanja Matic in the last two summers.
Asensio, however, would eclipse BBC Sport‘s reported fee of £89m that United paid for Pogba, who is both their club-record signing and the costliest in English football to date.
