Cristiano Ronaldo delivers shock news to Real Madrid, major blow for giants

Cristiano Ronaldo has written his name into Real Madrid folklore with a staggering tally of 414 goals in 407 games and counting, combined with countless trophies and individual accolades.

However, as with every good story, there has to be an end and as he prepares to turn 33 next year, there will be a glance towards the long-term future for Los Blancos and how they can cope without him.

Surprisingly though, it’s the other way round according to AS, who claim that as per El Chiringuito, Ronaldo has informed Madrid president Florentino Perez that he wants to leave the Bernabeu next summer.

For all the numbers mentioned above and the trophies that he’s won since moving to the Spanish capital, the Portuguese superstar is having a tough campaign this time round as he has just one goal in seven La Liga appearances so far this season.

In turn, perhaps coupled with the fact that he welcomed his fourth child to the world earlier this week, Ronaldo is considering his options as to where he wants to be next season, as per the report.

Nevertheless, it’s claimed that Perez isn’t interested in letting the club’s talismanic forward leave at the end of the season but it might be forced upon him if that’s truly his intentions as it’s also claimed in the report that Ronaldo felt a lack of respect with the club trying to sign Kylian Mbappe last summer.

It’s difficult to understand as to why he would feel that way as it’s surely just clever planning in terms of Madrid looking for a long-term replacement for Ronaldo as he will eventually have to be replaced, and so that element of the report surely has to be doubted as he would still remain the leading figure regardless.

It remains to be seen how the situation plays out, but ultimately this report would suggest that Ronaldo is ready to move on next summer which would be a major shock for all.
