Thursday saw reports surface that Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi was set to become the first openly gay footballer in the Premier League.
However, it didn’t take long for the Belgian international to correct the rumours, and he did it with a hilarious tweet to dismiss all talk.
As seen in the tweet below, Batshuayi responded to a post by a Chelsea site claiming that not only was he set to become the first openly gay player in the English top flight, but that he had also already informed his Chelsea teammates.
It seems it couldn’t have been further from the truth, as the Blues ace replied: “Bro even your mum knows that’s false” which has since attracted over 67,000 retweets and a staggering 113,000 likes.
Batshuayi is a popular figure on social media as he has provided us with some gems, particularly since his move to Stamford Bridge last year. And now, it appears as though there is another to add to the list…
