Manchester United transfer target accepts rival offer in advanced talks with European powerhouse

Manchester United look set to miss out on one of their top transfer targets as Antoine Griezmann reportedly agrees a move to Barcelona for next season.

The France international has been linked by ESPN as a target for United next summer, following previous failed efforts to bring him to Old Trafford.

However, El Rondo TVE journalist Albert Lesan has now tweeted that Griezmann has accepted an offer to join Barcelona after reaching advanced negotiations with the club.

Griezmann has shown himself to be one of the best attacking players in Europe in recent years, and looks like he’d fit in at the Nou Camp.

Barca were dealt the blow of losing Neymar to PSG this summer, and could do with a top class replacement in attack, with Ousmane Dembele getting off to a difficult start with injury.

Luis Suarez has also not been on top form this term, and it could be that Griezmann comes in as a like-for-like replacement for the Uruguayan up front.

United, meanwhile, should have alternatives in mind if they do miss out on Griezmann, with the Sun linking them with a big bid for Tottenham front-man Harry Kane.
