There’s bad news for Real Madrid as reports emerge of an increasingly frosty relationship between star player Cristiano Ronaldo and manager Zinedine Zidane.
Diario Gol claim Ronaldo has also been angered by Sergio Ramos’ recent comments, with the pair publicly disagreeing on the reasons for the team’s struggles.
Most intriguingly, the report adds that Zidane remains frustrated with Ronaldo as he views the Portuguese forward as being one of the main reasons a summer move for Kylian Mbappe fell through.
The France international ended up moving between Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain in a surprise move, following months of speculation that he’d be on his way to Real Madrid, with Marca later explaining how they missed out.
It remains hard to imagine how Zidane might have managed to fit in both Ronaldo and Mbappe in his already star-studded attack, but it certainly looks a big loss to be beaten to the signing of one of world football’s most exciting young talents.
Mbappe, 18, scored 26 goals for Monaco last season and has since started brightly for PSG as well, scoring six goals in his first 12 games for the French giants.
