Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho appears to have taken another thinly-veiled dig at the club’s fans after the recent defeat at Chelsea and ahead of today’s game with Newcastle.
This isn’t the first time the Portuguese has taken issue with the support at Old Trafford, and he’s once again taken to his programme notes to stress that the team will do better if they get behind them.
‘We will always do better when you play with us,’ he said.
‘So if you get behind the boys, they can make some real progress over the coming weeks.’

Fans turned on Mourinho somewhat after the recent defeat at Chelsea, with the Special One’s big-game record coming under the spotlight again.
United have put on defensive displays in most of their recent trips to other teams in the big six, with Mourinho known for being cautious on such occasions.
Still, he’s clearly keen for Old Trafford to give his side more of a backing as they look to get back on track against Newcastle today.
