- Crawley boss Harry Kewell involved in heated altercation with own fans
- ‘Abusive’ supporters clash with former Liverpool and Leeds ace
- Came after a 4-0 defeat at Wycombe as he struggles in managerial role
Former Liverpool and Leeds forward and current Crawley boss Harry Kewell had an afternoon to forget on Saturday after a heated confrontation with his own supporters.
After a 4-0 defeat Wycombe, the former Australian international decided to talk to some ‘abusive’ supporters according to reports, but things unsurprisingly didn’t go well.
As seen in the image below, his own player and a steward had to step in to separate the two parties to avoid it getting any uglier, with Kewell insisting after the game that he’s happy to confront anyone if they dish out abuse.
“Look, I’m not a shy person. I’ll confront anybody.
“I said at the start that if you have a problem you can always come up and ask me but, you know what, just leave it, because you’re never going to win.”
It doesn’t seem as though Kewell is going to win again based on the comments below from Crawley supporters and other interested viewers, with many calling for him to go…

Time for @crawleytown to admit Kewell was the wrong appointment before it gets any worse. Do the decent thing @selimgaygusuz so we can get our season back on track.

Three days before we signed Harry Kewell I called the owners number 2 and pleaded with them not to sign him. I told them he would relegate us. They didn’t listen. A month ago I told them again. No Reponse. SACK THIS GUY NOW!

Harry Kewell’s spell as Crawley Town manager surely looks to be coming to an end, swiftly.
After 13 defeats in 22 games in all competitions, including a 4-0 thumping at Wycombe yesterday, he then clashes with angry fans. You just cannot do that. Lost it.#CTFC #CrawleyTown

Kewell is driving the fans away. Arrogant and out of his depth. Yesterday’s outburst at fans was an embarrassment to our club. We don’t deserve that as fans. The board need to choose Kewell or the supporters. #KEWELLOUT
