Manchester United accept they may be unable to prevent star player sealing dream transfer

Manchester United are reportedly increasingly fearful they may be unable to keep hold of David de Gea as they expect renewed transfer interest from Real Madrid.

The Spain international has been a key performer for the Red Devils since he joined the club back in 2011, but has already come close to leaving once in the past.

BBC Sport reported that a late complication over paperwork was all that prevented De Gea moving to the Bernabeu in 2015, and there’s fresh speculation over his future at Old Trafford.

According to the Daily Mirror, United are preparing for Real to come back in for the 27-year-old and believe he wants a move back to La Liga at some point in his career.

Don Balon recently mentioned De Gea as being in Real’s sights again in a potential summer spending spree, and it looks clear that Florentino Perez could do with revamping his current squad.

Real have not been at their best so far this season and already look out of the running in the Spanish title race.

Perez is no stranger to spending his way out of trouble, and a move for a top class goalkeeper like De Gea certainly looks a good idea following the failure to truly replace club legend Iker Casillas since his departure.
