Real Madrid cracks widen, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zidane blamed by key man

The season isn’t going well for Real Madrid on the pitch with disappointing results so far, and according to reports, it’s getting worse off it too.

Los Blancos find themselves 10 points adrift of La Liga leaders Barcelona after their goalless draw with Atletico Madrid at the weekend, while they took just one point from two meetings with Tottenham as they could miss out on top spot in Group H in the Champions League.

In turn, Zinedine Zidane’s men are at huge risk of losing their Spanish and European crowns this season given the way in which they’ve started, and these kind of reports aren’t going to help the situation be resolved.

According to Diario Gol, Karim Benzema has grown tired of being the scapegoat for Madrid’s troubles, and has instead pointed the finger of blame at both Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Further, it’s even claimed that the Frenchman has looked to air his frustrations with president Florentino Perez, as he isn’t happy with Zidane’s tactics which look to make the most of Ronaldo’s qualities at his expense and as a result, when the Portuguese star isn’t firing, the Madrid boss is too concerned to not upset him.

Benzema hasn’t been lighting it up this season either with just two goals and two assists in 13 appearances in all competitions and so he certainly needs to do more moving forward even if he’s expected to be a facilitator for his teammate.

However, Ronaldo isn’t at his usual high standard with just one goal in eight La Liga outings. In turn, it will be down to Zidane to find the right balance in his side again to ensure that they rediscover their impressive form from last season and get back in the hunt for silverware otherwise this campaign could spiral for them with this latest suggestion of growing discontent at the club currently.
