Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand absolutely tore into Liverpool after they threw away a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 against Sevilla in tonight’s Champions League.
The Reds looked to be strolling to victory after going in 3-0 up at half time following two goals from Roberto Firmino and one from Sadio Mane.
But like so often this season, Liverpool’s defence fell apart and failed to live up to anywhere near the high standards set by their attacking play.
Ferdinand was far from impressed, and sent a brutal message to manager Jurgen Klopp as he summed up what he saw on BT Sport.
“Every goal could have been prevented… This Liverpool team don’t know how to defend.”@rioferdy5 on the Reds’ defensive frailties… pic.twitter.com/73H5Fb9ujd

‘Every goal they could’ve prevented,’ Ferdinand said.
‘The best teams can mix and match, can do things the ugly way, and I think this Liverpool team at the moment don’t know how to defend.
‘You’ve got to be able to soak up the pressure and defend as a team, but they weren’t able to do that.’
Liverpool now face the daunting task of taking on Chelsea at Anfield in the Premier League this weekend.
