Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger would have enjoyed last weekend, as the focus was on his side’s impressive win over Tottenham in the north London derby rather than him.
However, fast forward just five days later, and it seems as though some supporters are upset again following Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat at FC Koln in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Despite the fact that the Gunners still managed to secure top spot and qualified for the round of 32, there were many who were left unimpressed with what they saw during the game, and they also took exception with some of the personnel decisions from the veteran tactician.
It’s strange to see such calls for ‘Wenger out’ return so soon after the weekend, and it just goes to show that there’s a fine line for the Frenchman at the Emirates as he’ll constantly be under pressure.
While it’s never nice losing, it’s arguably more important that Arsenal produce a top performance and secure the right result away at Burnley this weekend, as that’s a true test of whether or not they can use the win over Tottenham as a platform to build some momentum and really put together a strong bid to finish in the top four at least, and perhaps aim even higher.
FT 0-1.
Beaten by a side currently bottom of the Bundesliga with just 2pts all season.
Well done, Wenger. Another notch on your triumphant European belt!#afc— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) November 23, 2017

Arsene Wenger has got to get out of @Arsenal stat. He clearly has lost it when he continues to give Coquelin minutes. He is a horrible footballer. Sloppy. Out of control. Wouldn’t even sniff a matchday squad let alone a 25 man roster at other top clubs. Wenger is a joke

All I want for Christmas is a new manager at Arsenal. #WengerOut

And Wenger plays him at wing-back.
Wenger has failed so many youngsters and Nelson will be another unless change happens.
We need to get rid of him for the good of our future as much as the present.@Arsenal #WengerOut https://t.co/TZp5a456bE

I cannot understand why Wenger and Arsenal would loan out Joel Campbell who has done absolutely nothing wrong when called upon but instead will keep Iwobi who has done absolutely nothing every game called upon.

Lucas Perez would have destroyed this Koln side.
Keeping Iwobi, Coquelin and Elneny but loaning Lucas Perez.
No manager in world football would commit such a crime.
