The Europa League has been an opportunity for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to rotate and give his youngsters a chance, and two in particular have made an impression on Jermaine Jenas.
While Wenger will have a big decision to make later in the competition if Arsenal continue to progress as to whether or not to bring in his star names to try and win it, throughout the group stage he has given the likes of Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock an opportunity.
It appears as though Jenas has been left impressed by the pair as he singled them out for praise in his post-match thoughts after the defeat to FC Koln on Thursday night, as he expressed his disappointment that Nelson didn’t start.
The 17-year-old in particular has been tipped for a bright future, with Thierry Henry even predicting big things for him in the years ahead, as per The Sun.
In turn, and the same applies to Willock, being able to play in the Europa League with the senior side is surely going to stand them in good stead for the future, with Jenas right in praising them for where they are right now, but they must continue to show development and progression to earn Wenger’s trust in order to make a breakthrough in the Premier League too.
