Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given Manchester United some hope of sealing the transfer of Mesut Ozil by insisting nothing has been agreed with Barcelona.
The Daily Mirror yesterday suggested Barca were in a commanding position to snap up Ozil, with the Catalan giants offering big money to him ahead of his being free to negotiate with foreign clubs from January.
The Germany international has also been strongly linked with United, with the Mirror claiming last month that the player himself was convinced he was heading to Old Trafford.
Turkish outlet Sabah have since reported the same, with their report stating Ozil rejected Fenerbahce because he’s planning to stay in the Premier League with United.

In a further boost to the Red Devils’ hopes, Wenger has now denied rumours that the 29-year-old is Barcelona-bound.
Asked if Ozil had agreed a move to the Nou Camp, Wenger’s answer as quoted by ESPN was a clear: ‘No.’
He added that he is not concerned by Ozil negotiating with other clubs, saying: ‘What kind of control can I have over that? All these people have agents who can talk to anybody.
‘That doesn’t disturb people, that happens all through their career.’
