Man United ace Romelu Lukaku could be set to face a retrospective ban after the Belgian international appeared to kick out at Brighton defender Gaetan Bong.
This is according to the Sun, who have reported that the Red Devils ace could miss his side’s vital game against table toppers Manchester City should the player receive a ban long enough.
The news outlet are also saying that the normal length of a ban for violent conduct is three games, which if given to Lukaku, would see him miss matches against Arsenal, Man City and Watford.
Since his arrival at Old Trafford from fellow Premier League side Everton in the summer, Lukaku has been fantastic for the Red Devils.
In 20 games for Mourinho’s side this season, the Belgian international has managed to score 12 and assist three, which has made the money United paid for the player in the summer look like a bargain.
For Everton, Lukaku was absolutely immense. In 166 games for the Toffees, the 24-year-old was able to clock up a record of 87 goals and 29 assists, something that is even more impressive when you considering how young the forward was at the time.
Lukaku’s dominant physical ability and lethal finishing has seen him touted as one of the most deadly strikers in the Premier League.
