Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar is reportedly pushing for Real Madrid to sell Cristiano Ronaldo if he is to join them from PSG at any point in the near future.
The Brazil international has emerged as an ambitious target for the Spanish giants, but Don Balon claim his own desire to seal a move to the Bernabeu has cooled.
Mostly, it seems, Neymar is concerned by the prospect of having to play in Ronaldo’s shadow at Real Madrid, having left Barcelona due to being sick of playing second fiddle to Lionel Messi.
Don Balon claim this is Neymar’s big demand to Los Blancos, and puts the move in some doubt as Ronaldo surely remains too important a figure to axe at this point.
The Portuguese superstar has arguably shown the first real signs of decline this season after a lack of goals in La Liga, scoring just two in nine appearances in the Spanish top flight so far.
Neymar, meanwhile, has been in sensational form for PSG and could be a superb long-term replacement for a name as big as Ronaldo.
For now, however, any possibility of that happening looks increasingly unlikely. with Neymar himself hitting out at speculation over his future.
AS reported that the 25-year-0ld stormed off from reporters after being asked about Real Madrid again this week.
