It looks like Chelsea aren’t close to signing this star after all.
It is being reported by German news outlet Bild that agent of 17-year-old Hamburg starlet Jann-Fiete Arp, Jurgen Milewski, has stated that the Blues aren’t close to signing the Bundesliga ace, despite the fact that the Mirror were reporting that Antonio Conte’s side were closing in on a deal for the player.
Speaking about whether the Mirror’s reports on Chelsea being close in a deal for Arp, Milewski said “There is nothing in the story.”
Following this news, it seems the Blues may have to fight a bit harder if they’re to secure Arp’s signature.
Since his debut for Hamburg earlier in the season, Arp has impressed the masses with his performances.
In five games for the Bundesliga powerhouse this season, the player has managed to score twice, with both of these coming in the league.
For the club’s youth side’s Arp was prolific to say the least. In 45 appearances for Hamburg’s U17’s, the forward managed to score an impressive 37 times, with the German also picking up two assists as well.
The 17-year-old has been deployed in a variety of positions so far, with Hamburg boss Markus Gisdol playing the player in the centre, on the right and on the left in his five appearances so far.
