Liverpool ace allays fears of Jurgen Klopp rift, explains post-match chat

After engaging in what looked to be a tense post-match conversation, Liverpool winger Sadio Mane has dismissed any suggestion of a rift with Jurgen Klopp.

The 25-year-old hasn’t quite been able to find top form so far this season, with suspension and injuries disrupting his campaign thus far.

In turn, he’s managed just four goals and four assists in 13 appearances, and that comes despite enjoying a highly impressive first year with Liverpool.

The decision to bench him against Chelsea at the weekend would have perhaps irked him, and coupled with the fact that he was seen having an intense conversation with Klopp after the game, it led to talk that there might be trouble brewing.

However, sensibly Mane has come out and looked to end it before it gets blown out of proportion, as he has insisted that there is absolutely no problem between him and Klopp and went on to explain that the pair were merely discussing a bit of confusion over tactics and positional play but on calm terms.

“It was friendly, it was not because I was unhappy or something else. There was no problem, I was just communicating and explaining that to him after the game,” he told Sky Sports.

That will surely be music to the ears of Liverpool supporters, as the last thing that they’ll want to read is problems between one of their best players and Klopp.

Instead, Mane has rebuffed any suggestion of an issue, and if anything, it sounds like a positive discussion which will likely help the pair moving forward as they plot a way to ensure that Liverpool at least finish in the top four this season.
