Real Madrid are reportedly considering a January transfer window swoop for Chelsea defender David Luiz as Antonio Conte seems prepared to replace the Brazilian.
Despite impressing for Chelsea last season, Luiz has found himself out of favour recently after a dip in form and the rise of impressive youngster Andreas Christensen at the back.
According to the Daily Mail, this has alerted Real Madrid, who are keen to strengthen defensively after a slow start to the season.
The Mail’s report also suggests Chelsea are already beginning to think about replacing Luiz as Conte himself is also in the market for new additions in defence this winter.

Lyon’s Mouctar Diakhaby is one of the names Chelsea have been scouting, according to the Mail, so it may really be that the club have given up on Luiz rediscovering his best form.
Luiz struggled in his first spell at Chelsea but returned to the club from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, becoming one of their most important players as they won the Premier League title in convincing fashion.
Still, Conte has high standards and also axed big names like Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic over the summer as he sought to rebuild his squad at Stamford Bridge.
