Real Madrid look to have wrapped up a January transfer deal for Chelsea defender and rumoured Manchester United target David Luiz on loan with a view to a permanent move.
This is according to Don Balon, who claim Luiz’s move to the Bernabeu has already been agreed after Florentino Perez identified the need to strengthen at the back this season.
Real lost an experienced centre-back in Pepe over the summer, and Luiz could be an ideal addition to a struggling squad who’ll want to set themselves up for a stronger second half to the campaign.
The Brazil international has recently struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in Antonio Conte’s side, with youngster Andreas Christensen impressing since returning from loan in the summer.

According to the Daily Express, Luiz’s situation has also sparked some interest from Manchester United ahead of January, though Don Balon suggest he’s poised to move to Spain instead.
United manager Jose Mourinho knows Luiz well from working with him at Stamford Bridge, and also raided his old club for Nemanja Matic during the summer.
Chelsea will understandably be keen to avoid losing another big name and experienced figure to a major rival, following Matic’s fine form at Old Trafford this term.
Chelsea fans may be disappointed, however, to see a big character like Luiz leave the Blues just a year and a half after rejoining them from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
