Manchester United reportedly face being beaten to the transfer of Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil as Barcelona prepare to offer Arda Turan to the Gunners as part of the deal.
The Germany international is due to be out of contract at the Emirates Stadium in the summer, with the Daily Star claiming Arsenal want around £30million for him in January if they are to cash in on him early.
Barcelona, however, could try to get that price down and tempt Arsenal into selling by offering Turkish playmaker Arda Turan to the club in exchange.
Turan hasn’t been a regular for the Catalan giants in recent times, but could be a useful addition for Arsene Wenger as he looks to fill the void left by Ozil in attacking midfield.

The 30-year-old is no Ozil, but has plenty of experience at the top level, winning major honours with both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona in his time in La Liga.
The Star add that Manchester United are also interested in Ozil, but it seems likely that Arsenal would do all they can to ensure their star player moves abroad instead of to a Premier League rival.
Ozil will get the chance to show United what he’s all about this weekend as Arsenal host the Red Devils at the Emirates Stadium in their Premier League clash.
