Real Madrid rival Barcelona for transfer of £105million Manchester City star

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in a transfer swoop for Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus as they look at a number of options for new additions up front.

Don Balon recently linked the Brazil international with Real’s rivals Barcelona, with some suggestion that he’s unhappy at sharing the limelight with Sergio Aguero at the Etihad Stadium.

Jesus looks one of the most exciting young forwards in the game at the moment after a superb start for City has seen him score 17 goals in his first 31 appearances for the club.

The 20-year-old first broke through at Palmeiras before linking up with City last January, but the club could already face some risk of losing him.

A fresh report from Don Balon suggests Jesus is impressing Real and emerging as a stronger candidate to come in and bolster their attack, alongside big names like Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi.

The report states that Jesus could cost as much as £105million, though City arguably don’t need the money.

Despite having many big names on their books down the years, City are yet to really lose any of their best players to other European super clubs.

Still, if Don Balon’s previous report that Jesus is not entirely happy with being in and out of the starting XI, interest from Real could prove very tempting as they look to replace the off-form Karim Benzema.
