Given that they’ve won 14 of 15 Premier League games so far this season, it isn’t going to be easy for Man Utd to see off rivals Man City this weekend.
The two Manchester giants face off in a highly-anticipated showdown at Old Trafford on Sunday evening, with Jose Mourinho trying to wipe out an eight-point deficit between the Red Devils and Pep Guardiola’s side.
City have been in ominous form all season both domestically and in the Champions League, while they’ve scored 46 and conceded just 10 in their 15 league outings.
As a result, it will take something special to inflict a first defeat of the season on them, but Man Utd fans were keeping a close eye on their win over West Ham United on Sunday and believe that they’ve spotted a weakness that can be exploited.
After Angelo Ogbonna headed home for the Hammers at the Etihad, the United faithful believe that Guardiola’s side struggle on set pieces, as seen in the tweets below, and that can be exposed given the power and strength that they have in their squad.
In turn, it remains to be seen if Marouane Fellaini gets the nod in midfield, which he may well do anyway given Paul Pogba’s suspension, while the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof will also be key in that regard too.
While that may be a way for United to find a way through City, they’ll also have to be switched on from start to finish in order to avoid being prised open themselves.

City look vulnerable from set pieces, won’t be lost on Mourinho.

West Ham need to keep this up. Theyve been excellent, closing down well and winning the second balls. City look suspect on set pieces.

We need to target City from set pieces next week. Get them crosses in.

Finally teams are realising how bad City are at defending set pieces

Fellaini must play this City for United to have a chance. They can’t defend set pieces.

Mourinho is going to play all the giants next Sunday judging by City’s poor defending at set pieces ??

That’s exactly what you need against City
Height and power
United need to abuse that on the set pieces next week— Patrice (@Maltsss) December 3, 2017
Is that how we beat City then? Fellaini and Lukaku from set pieces??
