Manchester United star sets out huge demands to seal Real Madrid transfer

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has reportedly informed Real Madrid that he would only seal a transfer to the Bernabeu for a salary of £10.5million a year.

The Spain international is reasonably content at Old Trafford and seemingly not pushing for a move unless he is rewarded handsomely for it.

According to Diario Gol, this means De Gea wants to be earning more than a host of big names in Madrid, and would settle for being second only to Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of wages.

It remains to be seen if Real would bow to these demands, with reports elsewhere suggesting they have alternatives in mind for De Gea anyway.

Diario Gol previously claimed Real would move for Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois if they couldn’t lure De Gea to the Spanish capital, and the Belgian looks more realistic anyway due to his contract situation.

Courtois was recently quoted in the Metro as saying he’s happy to put off talks over a new contract until the end of the season, which would leave him with just a year to run on his current deal.

In a further blow to Chelsea, Diario Gol have also claimed today that Real Madrid could end up landing both Antonio Conte as manager and thereby luring Alvaro Morata back to the Bernabeu to join him.

United fans will be delighted to see De Gea relatively settled with life in Manchester, particularly after his stunning match-winning display against Arsenal at the weekend.
