Barcelona ready to offload attacking duo in order to beat Manchester United to £88million transfer

Barcelona are keen to seal the transfer of Antoine Griezmann and could beat the likes of Manchester United to his signature by offloading two names to make room for him.

According to Don Balon, Barca are prepared to allow one or both of Paco Alcacer and Gerard Deulofeu to make way up front, though Griezmann is also being targeted to put pressure on Luis Suarez.

The Uruguay international has not been at his best this season, but Lionel Messi remains a big fan of his and Don Balon claim he doesn’t want to see him forced out of the side.

This could be why manager Ernesto Valverde is willing to work around the issue by getting rid of other forward players, allowing Griezmann to perhaps play alongside Messi and Suarez in a front three.

Either way, Manchester United will hope they still have a deal in place to win the race for Griezmann.

Don Balon have previously claimed that the France international has held talks with Jose Mourinho and even selected his squad number at Old Trafford.

This seems just to be a verbal agreement, so could in theory fall apart very easily, but the Red Devils would be disappointed to lose out on the player from what looked a strong position.

Griezmann has shown himself to be one of the best attacking players in the game in recent years, netting 90 goals in 177 games for Atletico Madrid.
