Real Madrid hand Chelsea golden chance to seal £54million goal machine transfer

Chelsea look to have been handed a major potential transfer boost with reports in Spain claiming Real Madrid have snubbed the chance to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Daily Mirror recently claimed the prolific Gabon international had been offered to Chelsea by Borussia Dortmund as they look to offload him after a fall-out with manager Peter Bosz.

The Sun, meanwhile, have claimed Aubameyang could be available for around £54million this January, which seems a good price for a player with such a superb scoring record.

It’s easy to see why Chelsea might want the 28-year-old, who has 21 goals in 20 games for Dortmund this season and 141 in just over four seasons with the Bundesliga giants.

That’s not good enough for Real Madrid, however, with Don Balon claiming Zinedine Zidane passed up on an approach from the player himself over a move to the Bernabeu.

The report claims Zidane would prefer to keep the faith with Karim Benzema for the time being, despite the Frenchman’s hugely unconvincing form so far this season.

Given Real’s struggles in La Liga and signs that the goals are also drying up for Cristiano Ronaldo, it looks like this decision could come back to haunt them.

Chelsea, however, may now have renewed hope of landing Aubameyang if they remain keen on doing so, while the Daily Mail have also linked him as a possible target for Liverpool.
