Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes he knows who his side will draw in the last 16 of the Champions League after they qualified in emphatic style last night.
The Reds put seven past Spartak Moscow at Anfield, and made history in the process as they scored 23 goals in their group – more than any other Premier League side has ever managed in that phase of the competition.
Klopp now expects Liverpool to come up against Real Madrid in the next round, as he claims his sides always seem to end up playing the Spanish giants at some point.
The German tactician’s Borussia Dortmund sides played out some thrilling contests with Madrid during his time in the Bundesliga, and it would certainly be exciting to see this Liverpool team up against Los Blancos.

Real won the trophy last season and the year before so would be formidable opposition, but Klopp is largely just relishing being in the last 16 after sealing qualification last night.
‘I don’t mind too much. Usually I always get Real Madrid,’ Klopp told BT Sport, as quoted by the Metro.
‘If it’s possible, I always play Real Madrid, so we will see what happens this time.
‘But we have no preference for opponent. We are just happy to go to the next round and we’re still in the competition and when the next year starts it will be really nice.
‘After a long time, showing up, Liverpool is here again. I love this kind of news.’
Klopp guided Dortmund to the Champions League final back in 2013 and could be on a personal mission to make up for the heartbreak of a narrow defeat to Bayern Munich that year.
