Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to consider a January transfer window swoop for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl.
The Red Devils boss’ top target for the winter is a new left-back, but he’s said to be keen to try signing Weigl if he has any funds left over, according to the Independent.
The Germany international has impressed in the Bundesliga in recent seasons, showing a maturity beyond his years to dictate the play in midfield for Dortmund.
The 22-year-old has already won himself five senior caps as well, and could be a useful addition at Old Trafford as Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera edge towards being free agents next summer.

The trio could prove hard to replace for Mourinho, who is apparently a fan of Weigl and the touch of class he could offer.
Dortmund could struggle to hold on to their stars after a recent slump in form that has seen them drop out of the Champions League and out of the title race in Germany.
Weigl may be one name at the club who’ll feel he could get himself a bigger move in the near future.
