Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is desperate to take over at Real Madrid as he looks unlikely to remain at Stamford Bridge, according to journalist Ian McGarry.
The Italian tactician has had a difficult second season at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea already looking out of the Premier League title race after a slow start.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City look to be running away with the title so far, and Conte hasn’t had things all his own way after a difficult summer in the transfer window.
Big names like Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic were sold and arguably haven’t been adequately replaced, and McGarry thinks it’s all coming to an end for Conte at Chelsea.
He also believes the pressure is likely to be on Zinedine Zidane now due to a bad result in today’s 3-0 El Clasico defeat against Barcelona.

‘I think he (Conte) wants the Real Madrid job,’ McGarry is quoted in the Sun.
‘If Barcelona turn over Real Madrid, the pressure will be massive on Zinedine Zidane.
‘And I think Conte is desperate to get that job. I think he is admired by Florentino Perez for what he did in one season at Chelsea which was very impressive although without Champions League football.’
Gazzetta dello Sport recently claimed Chelsea had made an initial approach over re-appointing Carlo Ancelotti as their manager to replace Conte.
