Ilkay Gundogan
Another decent midfielder who could be higher, but Ilkay Gundogan’s rotten luck with injuries has continued since his move from Borussia Dortmund to City last season.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan
A player with plenty of potential, but Henrikh Mkhitaryan has struggled for consistency at Old Trafford and his future now looks in doubt after a lack of recent playing time.
Bernardo Silva
Not a bad signing on the face of it, Bernardo Silva shone for Monaco last season and looked an exciting addition, though it’s little surprise to see the competition at City means he hasn’t featured a great deal.
Benjamin Mendy
A top defender and great character, Benjamin Mendy would surely be higher if not for his bad luck with injuries since moving to City from Monaco this summer.
Marlos Moreno
A promising youngster but not one to get a taste of first-team football at City just yet.
Oleksandr Zinchenko
Ditto for this guy, who’s spent time out on loan at PSV and faces plenty of competition at City.
Victor Lindelof
He might improve, but on what we’ve seen so far Victor Lindelof looks a dud signing by United, failing to look anything like the player he was at Benfica.
Danilo
He didn’t impress at Real Madrid and he hasn’t done a great deal at City yet either, though in fairness he’s also not seen much playing time for one reason or another.
Claudio Bravo
Amazingly, he’s not last on this list, but Claudio Bravo had a shocker of a debut season in England last year and it didn’t take long for Guardiola to replace him with the significant upgrade in Ederson.
Nolito
Seen as an exciting buy when he joined, Nolito did precious little in a City shirt last season and didn’t last long before being sent back to Spain.
