Lionel Messi is reportedly urging Barcelona not to miss out on the transfer of Ajax winger and rumoured Manchester United target Justin Kluivert, according to sources in Spain.
The Argentine forward is said to be a big fan of Kluivert and wants Barca to snap him up while they still can, according to Diario Gol.
This comes as Yahoo Sport recently linked the talented 18-year-old as a target for Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford as he seeks to bolster his attack.
United could certainly do with a player like Kluivert as soon as possible as their season threatens to go off the rails at the moment following a poor run of form.
Mourinho’s side are winless in their last three games, losing to Bristol City in a Carabao Cup shock result before drawing two Premier League games in a row against Leicester City and Burnley.

Romelu Lukaku has struggled to replicate his goalscoring form from the start of the season as United don’t look at their best in the final third.
Kluivert is surely more needed in Manchester than in Barcelona but Diario Gol claim Messi is pushing for the Catalan giants to sign him and add to their already star-studded front line.
Barca signed Ousmane Dembele after losing Neymar in the summer, while the likes of Messi and Luis Suarez up front have also helped them move into pole position to win La Liga.
