Arsenal star ‘on the verge’ of major transfer after deciding on his next club

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is ‘on the verge’ of a transfer to Manchester City after reaching a verbal agreement with the club, according to Marca.

The Chile international is one of the best attacking players in the world and will be a big loss for Arsenal, but it looks like a decision has been made on his future.

The Mirror suggested earlier this season that PSG could still be in the race for Sanchez’s signature, but it seems he’s snubbed foreign offers to ensure he gets his move to the Etihad Stadium.

It is understandable that the 29-year-old has chosen City as his next club, with a reunion with former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola clearly tempting, particularly with this exciting side he’s now building in Manchester.

Marca claim Sanchez’s agreement is to join City in the summer, but they also claim that move could be brought forward due to a recent injury sustained by striker Gabriel Jesus.

Guardiola won’t want to risk his side’s tremendous start suffering due to various squad knocks, with the Sun also linking them with Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti, who could be useful due to the absence of John Stones and Vincent Kompany for much of this campaign.

For Arsenal fans, it will be a big blow once again to see one of their best players move to a Premier League rival, with the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and Samir Nasri also leaving the Emirates Stadium for City in the recent past.
