Champions League giants in major u-turn over Chelsea & Manchester United transfer target

Juventus have reportedly decided they don’t want to sell Alex Sandro to Chelsea or Manchester United in the January transfer window, in what looks a major u-turn from the club.

The Brazil international is one of the top full-backs in Europe at the moment and is an important part of this Juve side, leading to plenty of speculation that he could make a big-money move to the Premier League.

Tuttosport recently claimed, however, that Juventus were ready to cash in on Sandro for around £53million, seemingly lowering what the Express had reported as a £61m asking price previously.

According to the Independent, Juventus now see Sandro as too important to let go in the middle of the season, which means Chelsea and United will have to wait a little longer to snap him up.

The report links both clubs as potential suitors for the 26-year-old, but states that United may be more likely to be willing to wait to sign him, while Chelsea arguably need a new left-back more urgently.

It remains to be seen if either club will now switch target, with the Sun previously linking United with interest in bidding for Tottenham’s Danny Rose in that position.
