Club line up £35million bid to seal transfer of Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez this month

Manchester City are reportedly lining up a £35million bid to seal the transfer of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez this January, according to the Daily Mail.

It remains to be seen how likely City are to go through with an official offer, but the report suggests they are considering it due to the recent injury sustained by Gabriel Jesus.

Pep Guardiola’s side are in the hunt for four trophies this season after some incredible form in the Premier League in particular.

City also look like genuine contenders for the Champions League and face a favourable tie against Bristol City in the semi-finals of the Carbao Cup.

The addition of Sanchez could prove an important one as City face so many big games, with Sergio Aguero on his own unlikely to be enough to cope with a gruelling schedule.

Sanchez is out of contract with Arsenal in the summer and the Mail claim he’s already set for a free transfer to the Etihad Stadium once his deal does expire.

However, it is little surprise to see City now looking prepared to bring that move forward, with the Mail claiming Arsenal could accept around £35m for the contract rebel this winter.
