Bad news for Man Utd, Real Madrid braced for sensational £85m bid

Given his injury record over the last three seasons, question marks must surely be raised over Real Madrid star and reported Man Utd target Gareth Bale.

The 28-year-old has seen his number of appearances steadily decrease, having gone from 48 outings in the 2014/15 campaign to 31 the following year before just 27 games last season.

Having managed just 14 so far this year, it’s become a real concern for Los Blancos over whether or not the Welshman can steer clear of injuries and stay fit to be a fundamental piece in their bid for success moving forward.

Bale has won everything there is on offer during his time in the Spanish capital and in his defence, he’s got 72 goals in 164 games for the club, which is a pretty decent record.

However, Madrid may well have a difficult decision on their hands coming up, as The Mirror report that Guangzhou Evergrande could be ready to meet their £85m asking price for Bale.

That’s bad news for Man Utd as it remains to be seen whether or not they launch their own bid for the former Tottenham man, while it’s also important to note that much will depend on Bale’s preference as he may have zero interest in moving to China at this stage of his career.

Nevertheless, it could prove to be very lucrative as suggested by the potential bid on the table, and with question marks remaining over his injury problems, he may be convinced that it’s the right decision for him.

United will arguably disagree, but that’s a lot of money to be spending if it means competing with Guangzhou and it will continue to be considered a risky investment by many given that it’s Bale unless he can put his fitness concerns behind him between now and the end of the current campaign.
