Tottenham’s stunning asking price for Harry Kane: Huge blow for Real Madrid

Tottenham reportedly have no interest in selling Harry Kane unless it’s for an astronomical fee, and who can blame them given his form.

The 24-year-old enjoyed the most prolific season of his career to date last year, scoring 35 goals in just 38 appearances for Spurs.

He’s followed that up with 24 in 26 games so far this season, as he looks on course for another impressive tally which he will hope will lead to trophies for his side to have something to show for their efforts.

According to The Mirror, Real Madrid have been dealt a major blow having been paired with an interest in Kane, as it’s claimed Tottenham have put a whopping £300m asking price on the England international, although they don’t have any intention of selling him anyway.

It’s difficult to understand why Kane would even want to leave, as he’s clearly the talismanic leader for his club currently, he continues to establish himself as a key figure for England and is emerging as one of the best forwards in Europe.

Further, Tottenham are continuing to make progress under Mauricio Pochettino and they have a new stadium to look forward to in the not-too-distant future.

In contrast, as noted in the report, perhaps the wage limitations at Tottenham coupled with their lack of trophies will count against them, but if their reported demand of £300m for Kane is legitimate, then it’s hard to see any club in the world splashing out that kind of money to set a new world record transfer fee.

Unless Real Madrid have got something special up their sleeve, it would appear as though Tottenham supporters can rest easy over Kane’s future…
