Bad news for Tottenham, €150m+ Real Madrid target makes key demand

It’s been reported in Spain that Real Madrid target and Tottenham striker Harry Kane has informed the giants that he wants the No.10 shirt.

The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the best forwards in Europe, enjoying the most prolific season of his career so far last year after scoring 35 goals in just 38 appearances.

To back that up, he’s got 26 in 27 so far this campaign, while he ended 2017 as the top goalscorer in Europe having surpassed Lionel Messi’s tally.

In turn, interest from elsewhere makes perfect sense, and Real Madrid continue to be heavily linked with a move for the England international.

Perhaps of real concern to Tottenham supporters, Diario Gol, as re-reported by The Express, claim that Kane has already told the Spanish giants that he wants to wear the No.10 shirt at the Bernabeu.

That number is currently owned by Luka Modric, but it’s reported that it won’t be a problem as the Croatian midfield maestro could be on his way out this summer which in turn will free up the No.10 for Kane.

It seems a little strange for Kane to be making such a demand at this stage, as there has been no indication of his desire to move on or for Tottenham to sell, at least publicly anyway.

As a result, given it’s Diario Gol, it has to be considered a little more, with the report adding that it will take in excess of €150m to prise Kane away from north London.

That also seems questionable given the transfer fees that we’ve seen in recent months. Given he’s been scoring for fun and has established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe, he could prove to be much more expensive for Los Blancos. If the report is true though, they will be hugely buoyed by what appears to be a willingness to move to the Spanish capital.
