Manchester United & Arsenal transfer targets facing axe in major Real Madrid fire-sale

Manchester United and Arsenal transfer targets could be made available by Real Madrid next summer as the Spanish giants reportedly plan a major fire-sale.

According to Don Balon, as many as five players look near-certainties to leave the Bernabeu, while others like Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema will also be sold if the right signings can be brought in.

This sounds like music to the ears of United and Arsenal, who have been linked with those respective attacking players in recent times.

The Sun recently claimed the Red Devils had held some initial talks over signing Bale from Real Madrid in a potential double swoop alongside Antoine Griezmann in a major revamp of their struggling attack.

United have been some way behind Manchester City this season, with that quality in the final third looking the biggest difference between the two sides.

Romelu Lukaku has occasionally cut an isolated figure up front, particularly recently as the goals have dried up for him following a prolific start to the campaign.

Bale could be useful in aiding United break teams down more, particularly as the Welshman found some of the best form of his career during his previous stint in England with Tottenham.

Don Balon, meanwhile, have linked Benzema with Arsenal at points this season, and his signing makes sense given Arsene Wenger’s needs in attack as well.

Alexis Sanchez is nearing the end of his contract, and the Independent even suggest his transfer to Manchester City could happen this week.
