Amid heavy speculation that Alexis Sanchez could be Man Utd bound, the United faithful have dismissed talk of a swap deal being possible.
As per the Evening Standard, it was claimed that Arsenal were hoping to try their luck and get Anthony Martial included in a swap deal for the Chilean forward.
Sanchez is set to leave the Emirates this month as the Gunners cash in while they can ahead of his contract expiring at the end of the season, and they will hope to get the best deal possible for him.
However, the notion of Martial being included in any deal has been met with heavy resistance and humour from many Man Utd supporters, who have zero interest in seeing the Frenchman leave Old Trafford with or without Sanchez coming in.
The 22-year-old was on the mark in the 3-0 win over Stoke City at Old Trafford on Monday night, sparking the reaction below from some supporters on Twitter who want to see him stay.
It’s clear that many don’t believe an exit will materialise, even though Martial hasn’t always been able to convince Jose Mourinho that he deserves a regular spot in his starting line-up.
That could be a source of frustration for him, but surely not one that forces him to consider his options at this stage of his career. If Sanchez arrives, that will increase competition for places. However, Martial is doing his job this season to ensure that he gets to stay in the side and the fans are behind him it seems…
